If you want to help with the Hotline or with 12-step work, please contact the Hotline coordinator:
Hotline worker: a sober
member of A.A. with at least six (6) months of continuous sobriety who commits
to be home at a specific time on a specific day to answer the telephone for
Alcoholics Anonymous. Telephone calls to the A.A. phone number will be forwarded
to the hotline worker's home number. Calls may be, but are not limited to, meeting
information, requests for other phone numbers, questions about A.A. and calls
from alcoholics who need help getting sober, including people who are drinking
(i.e. 12 - step calls).
In general these calls will be handled by the hotline worker. The exception is the
12 - step call which will be referred to a 12 - step volunteer from the 12 -
step list.
12 -step volunmteer: a sober member of A.A. with at least six (6) months of continuous sobriety who volunteers to talk to alcoholics who call alcoholics anonymous asking for help. Availability is based on times when the A.A. member is usually or generally at home. They have the option to take the calls when they are contacted by the hotline worker. A 12 - step volunteer deals only with 12 - step calls.
